Dr. Moe Aung Kyaw Naing - World Patients Alliance

Dr. Moe Aung Kyaw Naing was born in Myanmar in 1966 in Yangon and graduated from the University of Medicine (1), Yangon in 1990. After joining the Army Medical Corps, he obtained his Diploma of Medical Science (Renal Medicine) in 1998 from University of Medicine (2) Yangon and the Master of Medical Science (Internal Medicine) in 2002 from Defence Services Medical Academy, Yangon. He then served in various posts as Junior Physician, Assistant Lecturer, Department of Medicine, Consultant Physician (First Assistant) Oncology Department (500 bedded No. (2) Military Hospital, Yangon. He retired from the Military Corps in 2006 and joined the OncoPlus Private Medical Clinic as General Physician the then assumed the role of Consultant Physician at the Asia Royal hospital in Yangon in 2007 as well as the Consultant Renal Physician at the Paragu and Sarkura Specialist Hospitals in Yangon. He has been actively involved in various professional societies being a live long member of Myanmar Medical Association and previously served as a Member of GI and Liver Society and Hospital Representative, Internal Medicine Society of Myanmar Medical Association.
Since the founding of the Shwe Yaung Hnin Si Cancer Foundation (SYHSCF) in 2013 he has served as it’s General Secretary. During the past decade he has been actively involved in management and care of cancer patients both in his work as consultant physician and since 2017 through his voluntary work at the Shwe Yaung Hnin Si Charity Clinic providing free consultations and chemotherapy services for cancer patients. In addition, he has organized and lead numerous cancer awareness raising campaigns at the community level across the country as well through mass media channels such as educational radio talks, TV interviews and on-line seminars on cancer prevention, early detection, treatment and survivorship.
Since 2014, he has been a delegate representing SYHSCF at the World Cancer Congress and has co-authored an e-poster on Shwe Yaung Hnin Si Cancer Foundation’s efforts to improve cancer awareness among people of Myanmar. After SYHSCF became a full member of UICC in 2015, he has participated in numerous international conferences on Cancer such as Asia Pacific Cancer Conference, Leadership in Action in South Korea in 2017, International Cancer Conference in Nepal in 20 18 and ALSAC Global Alliance Forum in USA in 2018. He also participated in the WHO NCD Alliance workshop in Geneva, Switzerland in 2017. Most recently he has been elected as a WPA Advisory Board Member during the elections held at the WPA Council meeting on 04 Nov 2023 in Dubai.
