Hosea Boakye is a physiotherapist, clinical researcher and a public health specialist. He is currently working as a senior physiotherapist at the LEKMA Hospital under Ghana Health Service. As a researcher, Hosea has 12 publications in both local and international peer reviewed journals to his credit and he is reviewer for the Ghana Medical Journal and PLOS ONE journal.
His passion and desire to advance patient care and empowerment in Ghana propelled him and his colleagues to form the Strokeaid Foundation of which he is a co-founder and executive director. The Strokeaid foundation is a non-governmental organization affiliated with the world stroke organization aimed at reducing the incidence of stoke through education, advocacy, and empowering stroke survivors. Hosea has been leading several public health outreaches including community health screening and health education on both social media and the traditional media.
Hosea holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Physiotherapy and a Master’s in Public Health degrees from the University of Ghana.
