Anna Edwards - World Patients Alliance

Anna Edwards is a passionate patient advocate having spent over 25 years navigating health and social care systems in the UK and overseas. She has complex Crohn’s Disease and has undergone over 30 major surgeries as well as a multitude of other complications due to her condition.

Anna started her career as a criminal barrister and practised for almost ten years before deciding to change direction to work in healthcare. She has since worked in a variety of roles across regulation, central government and commissioning and is currently Associate Director of Transformation and Change at a regional ambulance NHS Trust in England.

Anna is also Board Honorary Advisor on person centred care and co-production at the International Society for Quality in Healthcare. In this capacity she has spoken across the world on the importance of patient voice, chaired a number of webinars and supported ISQua to set up a new education programme on person centred care.

She lives in a rural part of Kent, England with her husband Tom, son Dara and labradoodle Basil.
