Ernest Konadu Asiedu currently works as an Analyst, Health and Pandemics at the National Centre for Coordination of Early Warning and Response Mechanisms (NCCRM) representing the Ministry of Health since August 2021. He is responsible for collecting, collating, assessing, warning, and evaluating responses relating to health and pandemic, risks/vulnerabilities that impact human, national and sub-regional (ECOWAS) security. He is also an adjunct lecturer, at Pentecost University, Ghana and has remained an external examiner for PhD candidate in Quality Health Systems in Trinidad and Tobago. Earlier, he headed the Quality Management Unit at the Ministry of Health (MoH), and led the coordination of the implementation of the National Healthcare Quality Strategy (NHQS) within the MoH and across the Agencies of the MoH. He also co-chaired the W.H.O Quality of Care/Quality Equity and Dignity Network and coordinated the COVID-19 preparedness and response of inbound travellers into Ghana.
Furthermore, he serves on the Allied Health Professions Council Board and on the 37 Military Hospital Quality Management Committee. He is a registered medical practitioner, healthcare improvement Advisor from IHI, a faculty of IHI and UBORA Institute, and a graduate of the Advanced Programme of the Ghana Field Epidemiology and Laboratory Training Programme, a mentor for residents and a member of the Ghana College of Physicians (Faculty of Public Health). Dr. Ernest is also a patient and family advocate, supporting the demand for quality and safety and partnership between providers and consumers of health and healthcare.
