Grants for WPSD 2023

The World Patient Safety Day (WPSD) is observed globally on 17th Sept every year. The objectives of WPSD are to increase public awareness and engagement, enhance global understanding, and work towards global solidarity and action by all stakeholders to improve patient safety. The theme of WPSD 2023 is “Engaging Patients for Patient Safety” and the slogan is “Elevate the voice of patients!”.

Evidence shows that when patients are treated as partners in their care, significant gains are made in safety, patient satisfaction, and health outcomes. WHO Resolution WHA72.6 urges Members States “to put into place systems to support the active engagement, participation, and empowerment of patients, families, and communities in the delivery of safer health care”.

As we are just a couple of months away from WPSD, the WPA is pleased to announce Grants to WPA member organizations to celebrate the day. There are limited grants of USD 300 to USD 500 available to be used for organizing WPSD in-person events.
