WPA is glad to announce our strategic partnership with International Society for Quality in Health Care (ISQua), which is a leading international organization dedicated to promoting quality improvement in health care. ISQua’s mission is to inspire and drive improvement in the quality and safety of health care worldwide through education and knowledge sharing, external evaluation, supporting health systems and connecting people through global networks. Its vision is to be the global leader of transformation in healthcare quality and safety.
Both the organizations have recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), which provides a clear framework of partnership between the two organizations. Through this partnership, WPA and ISQua strive to improve the quality and safety of patient-centred healthcare around the world. This framework includes activities such as information exchange, organizing joint projects, promoting, and participating in each other’s activities and publishing joint statements on important healthcare issues
Andrew Spiegel, Chair of World Patients Alliance , said that we value our partnership with ISQua. The current pandemic and other rising healthcare issues make it more important that we enter into collaborations and partnerships with other healthcare stakeholders for the much-needed improvement in healthcare worldwide. Our partnership with ISQua will bridge the gap between the patients and healthcare providers globally. In this regard, both the organizations are organising the first collaborative online workshop on person centred healthcare on September 5, 2022. The audience of this workshop will be both, patients, and healthcare professionals from all over the world.
Anna Edwards, Patient Representative on the ISQua Board said, “I am delighted ISQua has created a new partnership with the World Patients Alliance- both organisations are dedicated to safe person-centred care and ensuring co-production is at the heart of global healthcare. I am looking forward to ISQua, ISQua’s Person, Family and Carers Advisory Council and the WPA joining forces to share learning, drive improvement and influence the future for patients everywhere.” This sentiment was echoed by ISQua’s CEO, Dr Carsten Engel.
