In the landscape of medical research, equity, diversity, and inclusivity (EDI) are not merely buzzwords but guiding principles that shape the trajectory of progress. Nowhere is this more apparent than in the realm of gynecologic cancer clinical trials, where the pursuit of equitable healthcare access intersects with the complexities of patient diversity.

Imagine hearing that a loved one — your mother, father, husband, wife, or someone else whom you care immensely about — has been diagnosed with a debilitating disease such as cancer or multiple sclerosis.

There is immense power in listening and learning from the patient perspective. Through meeting patient advocates and hearing their stories, I witness this in my role everyday as Pfizer’s Vice President of Global Patient Advocacy.

For many of us access to care is not something that we struggle with or even give much thought. We may have a great health care insurance or live in a country where you have universal health coverage.
