Alzheimer’s Pakistan Observes World Alzheimer’s Day 2025

Alzheimer’s Pakistan, in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Lahore City (RCLC) and the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), observed World Alzheimer’s Day 2025 to raise awareness, share patient stories, and strengthen community action for dementia care.
The event featured insightful sessions and personal stories that highlighted the importance of understanding and supporting people living with dementia. Dr. Hussain Jafri, Secretary General of Alzheimer’s Pakistan, led a session on dementia awareness and the need for accessible care. Maimoona M., Clinical Psychologist, shared a moving patient story illustrating the positive impact of daycare services.
Rtn. Syed Ali Jafri, Senior Vice President of Alzheimer’s Pakistan, called on policymakers to prioritize dementia care and uphold patient rights. The program also included a keynote address by PP Dr. Shaheena Asif Choudhary, Coordinator for Rotary District 63 Central Zone, reaffirming Rotary’s commitment to community health and Alzheimer’s awareness.
Leaders from FPCCI, including Vice Presidents Qurat-ul-Ain and Zaki Ijaz, expressed strong support for collaborative action in improving dementia care nationwide.
Through this initiative, Alzheimer’s Pakistan renewed its pledge to continue advocacy, education, and support for individuals living with dementia and their caregivers, fostering a more inclusive and compassionate approach to mental health in Pakistan.
