For over 20 years, Linda Reinstein has led patient and policy advocacy to end asbestos injustice worldwide. A Mesothelioma Widow, Evidence-Based Advocate, and Digital Storyteller, she transformed personal loss into lasting change.
After her husband, Alan, was diagnosed with mesothelioma in 2003, Reinstein co-founded the Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (ADAO) in 2004 to prevent asbestos exposure and eliminate all asbestos-caused diseases. As President and CEO, she continues to advance public health, environmental justice, and civil rights, testifying before the U.S. Congress and speaking to audiences in more than 20 countries.
In 2024, Reinstein became a Board Certified Patient Advocate (BCPA) to formally recognize and expand her decades of patient-centered advocacy. With over four decades of nonprofit leadership, she continues to build, sustain and scales grassroots movements through integrated education and digital campaigns reaching global audiences. Her current focus is advancing the Alan Reinstein Ban Asbestos Now (ARBAN) Act to end asbestos imports and use, reduce legacy exposure, and strengthen corporate chemical transparency.
