Michał Bedlicki - World Patients Alliance

Michał Bedlicki is a distinguished leader in the field of healthcare quality management. He is the co-founder of the Center for Quality Monitoring in Health Care and the Accreditation Program in Health Care, where he has played a pivotal role in shaping accreditation standards for acute hospitals, primary health care, and one-day clinics. With over 20 years of experience as an Accreditation Visitor, Bedlicki has consulted for numerous hospitals on implementing quality tools.

As a lecturer specializing in healthcare quality management, Bedlicki has also authored the “Safe Hospital" ranking, published in “Rzeczpospolita," and numerous publications on patient quality and safety. His research has focused on monitoring quality indicators in Polish hospitals, contributing valuable insights to the field.

Bedlicki has organized over 20 Quality in Healthcare Conferences and co-created the PASAT Patient Opinion System and the Decubitus Registry. He is an active member of the OECD quality indicators group and has served as a WHO consultant on the implementation of external quality systems. Additionally, he is a member of the Board of the Society for the Promotion of Healthcare Quality in Poland and authored the first nationwide survey on hospital safety culture, “QBA."

His interests extend to the use of information technologies for patient safety and the application of e-health to improve healthcare communication. As the founder of the Safe Medicine Foundation, Bedlicki continues to advocate for advancements in healthcare quality and patient safety.
