Hana Nimer holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the Lebanese American University (LAU), where she graduated Valedictorian of the Class of 2013. In 2019, after the loss of her husband to late-diagnosed colorectal cancer, Hana turned her grief into action by founding SAID NGO an organization dedicated to Spreading Awareness and Increasing Detection of colorectal cancer.
SAID NGO is officially registered under Decree 324/2016 and is a recognized member of the advisory committee for the implementation of Lebanon’s National Cancer Plan 2023–2028. Under Hana’s leadership, the NGO has become a prominent voice in Lebanon for cancer awareness, patient advocacy, and support, particularly in underserved communities where access to screening and reliable information is limited.
Hana is committed to empowering patients, promoting early detection, and advancing health equity. Through her work, she seeks to ensure that no one is lost to a preventable disease due to lack of awareness, information, or systemic barriers, inspiring national action and community engagement across Lebanon.
