Robert Moss

Robert MossRobert Moss trained as a hospital pharmacist in Haarlem, the Netherlands, and has spent his career close to clinical practice and to the people who deliver and receive pharmaceutical care. As a consultant in hospital pharmacy, he works to improve patient care, organisational effectiveness and professional education, while his current national focus is on preventing and mitigating medicines shortages through the Dutch National Medicines Coordination Centre. Rob has a particular interest in how pharmacy can contribute to stronger, more equitable and resilient health systems, bringing together innovation, digital transformation and international collaboration across very different healthcare settings. His work spans medicines shortages, substandard and falsified medicines, health-system preparedness and the development of hospital pharmacy worldwide. A consistent thread throughout his career has been a belief in people-centred care and in the unique role pharmacists can play as highly accessible healthcare professionals. Rob is Vice-President of the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP), and in 2025 received the ASHP Donald E. Francke Medal for his international contribution to advancing hospital pharmacy practice.
