Workshop on the Management and Treatment of Thalassaemia

The Thalassaemia Federation of Pakistan (TFP), in collaboration with Fatima Memorial Medical College, organized a comprehensive Workshop on the Management and Treatment of Thalassaemia on 09 October 2025 in Lahore, Pakistan.

The workshop, led by Prof. Dr. Jovaria Mannan, Chairperson of TFP’s Medical Advisory Board, brought together medical experts and healthcare professionals to discuss key aspects of thalassaemia diagnosis and care. Sessions covered topics such as diagnosis of thalassaemia, blood transfusion in TDT and NTDT, transfusion reactions and alloimmunization, osteoporosis and hypersplenism, LV dysfunction and fluid management, and aplastic crisis.

Prof. Dr. Tayyab Abbas, Principal of Fatima Memorial Medical College, attended as Chief Guest and presented shields and certificates to speakers and participants in recognition of their contributions.

The event provided an interactive platform for paediatricians, clinicians, and healthcare practitioners to strengthen their understanding of thalassaemia management and align on evidence-based practices.
