WPA Leadership Honoured with "Helping Hands" Prize at Carita Foundation Jubilee
Warsaw, Poland | The World Patients Alliance (WPA) is proud to announce that its leadership has been recognized for outstanding contributions to global patient advocacy during a historic double anniversary celebration in Warsaw.
On 13 December 2025, during the European Forum of Haemato-Oncology Patients, the Carita Foundation (named after Wiesława Adamiec) hosted a special Jubilee Gala. The event marked two significant milestones in healthcare advocacy: the 15th Anniversary of the Carita Foundation and the 35th Anniversary of the International Myeloma Foundation.
Celebrating Excellence in Patient Advocacy
In a highlight of the evening, the Carita Foundation awarded the prestigious “Helping Hands" Prize to two distinguished leaders in the global patient community:
– Jolanta Bilińska, Founding Board Director of WPA and President of the Patient Safety Foundation.
– Hussain Jafri, CEO of the World Patients Alliance.
The award recognizes their unwavering dedication to strengthening patient advocacy, promoting patient-centered care, and ensuring that the lived experiences of patients shape healthcare decisions globally.
A Partnership for Better Care Standards
The evening was not only a celebration of past achievements but a reaffirmation of the partnership between global and local organizations.
Upon receiving the honor, Jolanta Bilińska extended her gratitude to Łukasz Rokicki, President of the Carita Foundation. She highlighted the critical work Rokicki and his Board have undertaken to improve care standards for hemato-oncology patients.
Hussain Jafri, CEO of WPA, emphasized the vital role the Carita Foundation plays within the WPA network:
“Empowering patients highlights Carita’s role in making patients true partners in healthcare. I am proud that Carita is a member of WPA and that we are partners. We deeply appreciate the contribution of Carita to the global patient community."
Strengthening the Voice of Haemato-Oncology Patients
The Jubilee Gala served as a powerful platform for the European Forum of Haemato-Oncology Patients. The event featured wonderful sessions, discussion forums centered on patient stories, and inspirational conclusions that set the stage for the future of patient care.
WPA is honoured to have joined this celebration. The recognition of Hussain Jafri and Jolanta Bilińska reflects WPA’s core mission: to ensure that patient voices, rights, and insights remain at the forefront of healthcare policy and practice.
We congratulate the Carita Foundation and the International Myeloma Foundation on their anniversaries and look forward to continued collaboration in empowering patients worldwide.
