Rare Disease Day in Serbia Highlights Mental Health and Community Support | World Patients Alliance

Lil’ Brave One , Hrabriša, together with Udruženje Život and in partnership with the National Organization for Rare Diseases of Serbia and “Lipa” from Niš, marked Rare Disease Day with a public forum focused on mental health and community support.

Experts explored the emotional burden experienced by parents, burnout among professionals and research at the intersection of mental health and rare diseases. The discussions highlighted the need for coordinated, sustainable psychosocial support for the rare disease community.

An educational quiz, “From Knowledge to Awareness,” also engaged medical and pharmacy students through interactive, case-based learning. The event reinforced the importance of solidarity, knowledge and collective action in supporting people living with rare diseases, their families and the professionals who care for them.
