Emilia Demczur

Emilia DemczurEmilia Demczur is a patient advocate, communications leader and Vice President of the Carita Foundation, a Polish patient organization dedicated to improving the lives and care of people affected by hematological cancers.Emilia has been involved with the Carita Foundation since 2013, contributing to the development of a wide range of patient-focused projects in education, advocacy, community building and access to healthcare. In her current role she leads communication and public relations and works closely with patients, healthcare professionals, policymakers and other stakeholders to strengthen the patient voice and promote more patient-centered healthcare.
The Foundation is increasingly exploring how digital health and technology can support patients and healthcare professionals – from telemedicine and solutions enabling remote monitoring of patients’ health to AI-powered tools designed to support physicians in their daily work, including faster clinical documentation and transcription.
Emilia brings a complementary corporate perspective to her patient advocacy work. She has nearly 15 years of experience in international marketing and communications, including almost a decade at 3M, and currently serves as Head of Marketing EMEA at Oetiker – organizations where technology and innovation play an important role in shaping the future of industries.
She is particularly interested in how AI can create new opportunities to improve healthcare. While she recognizes significant barriers related to digital literacy and the risk of leaving some patients behind, she also sees substantial opportunities – particularly for healthcare professionals and health systems. She believes that if technology can reduce administrative burden, support better decision-making and give healthcare professionals more time to focus on patients, it has the potential to improve both access and quality of care.
