European Patient Safety Foundation to Host European Patient Safety Conference 2026 | World Patients Alliance

The European Patient Safety Foundation will host the European Patient Safety Conference 2026 under the theme “Towards Safe and Resilient Healthcare Systems in Europe: From Strategy to Implementation in a Changing Healthcare Landscape.”

The conference will address shared pressures affecting patient safety across Europe, including workforce fatigue and shortages, gaps in crisis preparedness, financial pressures and the increasing complexity of care.

Building on five years of dialogue, EUPSF and its affiliates have launched the European Strategy for Safe and Resilient Healthcare Systems. The framework addresses structural factors influencing patient safety, including governance, workforce well-being, leadership, digital reliability and system resilience.

The conference will examine how the strategy’s pillars of governance, workforce well-being, innovation, learning culture and patient involvement can be translated into practical action at institutional, national and European levels.
