DiaLeb Hosts Successful Diabetes and Liver Diseases Screening Campaign on Global Fatty Liver Day
On June 13th, in celebration of Global Fatty Liver Day, DiaLeb (National Diabetes Organization), in partnership with Beirut Arab University, organized the “Diabetes and Liver Diseases Screening Campaign 2024" at Orange Nassau Hospital in Tripoli, North Lebanon. This impactful event aimed to raise awareness and provide essential health screenings to the local community.
The campaign featured a comprehensive array of free screenings, including 50 hepatic enzyme tests, 220 lipid profiles, 600 fasting blood glucose tests, and 40 HbA1c tests. The event saw significant public participation, highlighting the community’s commitment to proactive health management. High-risk individuals identified during the screenings were given referrals for further medical consultation.
Dr. Jackie Maalouf, who supervised the event along with the dedicated DiaLeb team, emphasized the importance of early detection and proactive health management with the theme “Act Now, Screen Today." This event was made possible through the collaboration with the Global Liver Institute.
Following the campaign, Dr. Nisrin Bissar discussed its impact on LBCI’s Morning Talk, underlining the critical need for regular screening for diabetes and liver diseases.
