Economic Empowerment Programme Supports Women Living with and Affected by HIV | World Patients Alliance

Thirty-five women living with or affected by HIV completed a nine-month cutting and garment design course delivered by Ebenezer Women Social Entrepreneurship. The programme equipped participants with practical skills to establish income-generating activities and strengthen their economic independence.

Following the training, participants began producing and selling sewn items within their communities, enabling them to contribute to household income and provide essential support for their families. The programme also strengthened their confidence, independence and hope for the future.

The graduates have since formed their own group and are engaging local authorities on issues affecting their health, families and livelihoods. Their growing participation in community platforms demonstrates how economic empowerment can strengthen patient voices, social inclusion and wellbeing.
