PID Care China Releases First National White Paper on Primary Immunodeficiency
28 February 2025 | Shanghai, China
PID Care China released China’s first national White Paper on Primary Immunodeficiency on Rare Disease Day 2025. The publication was initiated and led by PID Care China in partnership with CORD and with support from Takeda China.
Drawing on data from 435 patients and caregivers across China, the White Paper examines diagnostic journeys, access to treatment, immunoglobulin availability, financial burden, quality of life and the unmet needs of the primary immunodeficiency community.
The findings identify significant barriers to timely diagnosis and appropriate treatment. By documenting patient and caregiver experiences, the White Paper provides important evidence to strengthen public awareness, clinical education and policy dialogue, while supporting efforts to improve access to appropriate care for people living with primary immunodeficiency in China.
