SPEM Opens New Cascais Facilities to Support Rehabilitation and Independence
30 May 2026 – Cascais, Portugal
Sociedade Portuguesa de Esclerose Múltipla (SPEM) officially opened its new facilities in Cascais on World Multiple Sclerosis Day 2026. The new space places self-care, autonomy and technology at the centre of support for people living with neurological conditions.
The facilities include dedicated areas for training and rehabilitation. They will also accommodate the future “Brain Gym,” which will bring together psychology, physiotherapy, speech therapy, osteopathy, cognitive stimulation and socialization services.
During the opening, SPEM presented technological solutions designed to support mobility and greater independence. The event also included a tribute to the organization’s founding members and everyone who has contributed to its development.
The new facilities reflect SPEM’s commitment to person-centred rehabilitation, healthy living and improved quality of life for people with neurological conditions.
