The Technical Advisory Group on Genomics (TAG-G) convened its inaugural meeting in Geneva on October 5-6. Comprising experts from diverse global regions, TAG-G operates independently, with Professor Iscia Lopes-Cendes appointed as the Group Chair. Functioning as an advisory body to the WHO Secretariat, TAG-G will guide activities to enhance global access to genomics technologies, recommend priority actions, contribute to guidance development, highlight regional opportunities, and assess progress. Working groups focused on data sharing, equity, economics, private sector engagement, workforce capacity, and communication were formed. TAG-G aims to meet 2-3 times annually, with at least one in-person session. For more details, visit WHO’s official announcement.
