Carsten Engel, joined the International Society for Quality in Health Care (ISQua) as CEO in 2021. He has 18 years of experience in Quality Improvement, preceded by 19 years of clinical frontline service and clinical management. From 2006-2021 he worked with IKAS, Danish Institute for Quality and Accreditation in Health Care, since 2010 as Deputy Chief Executive.

Carsten has been a member of ISQua’s/ISQua EEA’s Accreditation Council 2010-2021, Deputy Chair 2016-2021; he has been an ISQua Expert since 2013 and was appointed as a Member of the ISQua Academy 2019.  During his time with IKAS, he contributed to the development of ISQua’s International Accreditation Programme and was an ISQua surveyor.
